In the frozen heart of Canada’s far north, a weather‑tanned young trapper and his two companions trek through snow‑deep canyons, following rumors of a hidden gold mine. Dick Kent, fresh from a year of service with the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, partners with the eager Sandy MacClaren and his seasoned uncle, a Hudson’s Bay Company factor. Their goal: a charcoal‑etched map said to mark the vein that once fed the region’s fortunes.
The trio descends into a dark, candle‑lit cavern, its walls bearing the marks of an ancient hand. As they trace the cryptic lines, faint footsteps echo from deeper tunnels, hinting that they are not alone. A shadowy figure known only as the Scar‑Faced Indian watches from the darkness, promising a clash between daring explorers and a relentless, unseen foe. The tension of the hunt and the icy wilderness set the stage for a gripping chase that will test loyalty, courage, and the pull of treasure.
