How does pricing work?

Listenly uses pay-as-you-go credits, so you pay only for the audio you listen to and do not need to think about a subscription. You can use the same balance for your uploads and public-library books. If you do not have credits, you can also purchase a public-library book separately with a one-time payment.

Which languages are supported?

Afrikaans, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Marathi, Maori, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Welsh. The language of your book or document is detected automatically during upload. Our current AI text-to-speech models work best with English and other Latin-alphabet languages, such as French and German, and may have an accent with others.

Does Listenly work on mobile?

Yes, you can open Listenly in your mobile browser and add it to your home screen to use it as a separate app. We are planning to publish native apps in the app stores.

Can I export audio from Listenly?

Yes. You can export books and documents from your library as M4A or M4B audio. Click Download audio on the book page, choose a format, and we’ll email you a download link when it’s ready. Listenly shows the credit cost before you confirm the export.

Is it legal to make AI audio versions of books?

Your uploaded books and documents are accessible only to you. Think of Listenly like Google Drive or Dropbox, where you can store books that you bought or downloaded. For the public library, we select public-domain content only. If you do not want your content to be published there, contact us at support@listenly.io, and we will remove it.

How many voices are available?

There are 36 voices available. You can preview and choose the one that fits your listening style best. AI is developing rapidly, and new models appear frequently. We keep track of them and add new voices when they meet or exceed the quality of the current ones. We aim to provide the best listening experience, so we are selective.
