Description

Nestled amid towering gums and a riot of summer blossoms, Billabong homestead feels like a world apart. The sprawling verandas, the lazy lagoon where black swans glide, and the ever‑swinging hammock create a backdrop of peaceful, sun‑drenched country life. Here fourteen‑year‑old Norah spends her afternoons knitting, watching the garden buzz, and dreaming of the one missing piece that would make her days complete.

Her elder brother Jim, tall and lively, bursts onto the scene with the same breezy confidence that the bush imparts. Together they share a bond forged by endless afternoons on the paddocks, a restless terrier named Puck, and the promise of adventures beyond the homestead walls. As the season turns, the siblings look forward to gatherings, dances, and the small but thrilling challenges that rural life constantly offers, hinting at friendships and escapades that will shape their coming years.
