Description

A sun‑kissed homestead sprawls across the Australian bush, its iron gates opening onto a winding avenue shaded by towering pines and bursts of bougainvillea. The red, two‑storey house rests on a gentle rise, its verandahs and open windows inviting the cool evening breezes that sweep across paddocks dotted with gum trees and a reed‑fringed lagoon. Life at Billong is informal and welcoming; the resident stockmen, their loyal dogs, and the thriving garden of roses, fruit trees, and wildflowers create a vivid portrait of rural Australia far from the nearest town.

Within this secluded world, a handful of characters—Murty O’Toole the head stockman, the Linton family, and occasional strangers who brave the back‑way tracks—navigate daily routines, trade, and the occasional clash of manners. Their interactions hint at deeper stories of ambition, love, and the pull of distant horizons, setting the stage for a journey that will eventually carry them far beyond the bush, toward an unexpected destination across the seas.
