Description

In the torn kingdom of France, a desperate king wrestles with empty coffers and a restless court while English forces press ever closer to the heart of his realm. Amid the glitter of troubadours and the grumbling of unpaid soldiers, the proud but disillusioned Dunois—known as the Bastard of Orléans— voices his frustration, fearing that the crown’s indecision will hand the city of Orléans to the enemy. Beside him, his fellow officer Du Chatel laments the lack of funds for the troops, exposing the fragile loyalty that holds the kingdom together.

Against this backdrop of political intrigue and looming siege, the stage is set for an unexpected heroine whose faith and courage may turn the tide. The early act paints a vivid portrait of a nation on the brink, where honor, desperation, and the hope for a brighter future begin to intertwine, inviting listeners to witness the birth of a legend.
