Description

In a war‑torn French countryside, the humble shepherd Thibaut d’Arc watches the English banner rise over his beloved fields. Amid the smoke of battle and the looming threat of the king’s coronation, everyday villagers cling to old rituals and whispered prayers beneath an ancient oak. The prologue paints a vivid picture of a community poised between hope and despair, where even the simplest promise of marriage becomes a strategic whisper against the chaos of war.

Against this backdrop, Thibaut’s three daughters become the centre of competing desires: one is courted by a bright‑eyed young shepherd named Etienne, another draws the attention of the earnest Claude Marie, while the third, Louison, is cradled in a tender, almost forbidden embrace. Their fathers, lords, and foreign envoys intersect in a tangled web of loyalty, ambition, and fragile affection, setting the stage for a romance that must navigate both personal longing and the relentless march of armies.
