Description

The tale follows the tragic life of Gustav, the only son of a once‑beloved Swedish king, whose fate is shaped by the ruthless politics of his uncle’s court. Cast out as a child, he is sent to a Jesuit school far from home and soon finds himself drifting across Europe—working as a shoeshine boy in inns, laboring in stables, and even pawning his father’s diary just to survive. Despite these hardships, Gustav’s curiosity and love for learning never fade, and his quiet dignity earns him the respect of those he meets.

His journey eventually leads him to the icy streets of Moscow, where a mysterious imperial summons draws him into the heart of the Russian court. There, amid rain‑soaked cobblestones and looming Kremlin walls, he confronts new dangers while clinging to the memory of his homeland. The early chapters paint a vivid portrait of a young prince caught between loyalty, exile, and the relentless winds of destiny.
