Description

In the heart of ancient Rome, the Senate prepares to crown a war‑hero whose victories over the fierce Goths have become the city’s pride. As the triumphant commander returns with his battered troops and a handful of surviving sons, political rivals and eager allies alike gather to secure their own positions in the new order. Family bonds are already strained: a younger brother seeks his own power, while a daughter’s marriage promises to link two powerful houses.

Beneath the pomp, a darker current stirs. The captured Goth queen, Tamora, and her followers are brought before the crowd, hinting at future reckonings that could test the limits of honor and mercy. The stage is set for a clash of loyalties, revenge, and the brutal choices that define both personal and civic duty in a city teetering on the edge of chaos.

About the author

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare

1564–1616

A playwright, poet, and actor from Stratford-upon-Avon, he created characters and lines that have stayed alive for more than four centuries. His stories of love, ambition, jealousy, power, and forgiveness still feel startlingly human.
