Description

Judy Bolton has just inherited her grandparents’ quiet farmhouse and, with her friend Honey’s help, transforms it into a welcoming “tourists” stop. The modest sign they post points visitors down a winding road past Dry Brook, through a beech‑grove and up to the old porch where the house waits for its first guests. When a sleek car arrives carrying three mysterious strangers, the girls’ excitement turns to nervous curiosity, especially as the sky takes on an uncanny pink‑green hue.

As the visitors spread out, probing the property and its surrounding barn, subtle clues hint that something beyond a simple bed‑and‑breakfast may be hidden in the hills. Judy’s knack for observation and her connection to her brother‑in‑law, who works for the FBI, draw her into the early stages of an investigation. The lingering storm, the rustling trees, and the eerie atmosphere promise a puzzle that will test her quick thinking and courage.
