Description

A restless girl named Madeline finds herself on a dusty road marked by a warning sign that reads ‘Beware of Dragons,’ though the dragons are really the quirky Lippet couple who run a nearby farmhouse. When she wanders into the wooded lane that leads to the Tyler house, a stray song drifts from the treetops and introduces a boy named Tommy, a discoverer with his own secret tunnel. Their hesitant greetings spark a friendship built on shared stories of distant cities, elevators, and a longing for belonging.

Together they explore the overgrown path, followed by a sleek black cat that seems to guard an iron bird named Gilly Galoo, a magical creature that lives in Tommy’s father’s carpenter shop. Madeline’s memories of a cramped New York studio clash with the country’s open fields, amplifying her homesick yearning while Tommy shows her the hidden workshop tunnel he built for his tiny companions. The duo’s curiosity leads them toward twin houses on the horizon, where a baby carriage rocks gently and an unfamiliar lullaby whispers promises of new adventures yet to unfold.
