Description

In bustling Naples, two young men find their love lives in peril. Octave and Léandre have each been promised marriage to the daughters of their fathers’ friends, a plan that threatens to derail their secret romances with Hyacintha and Zerbinette. Their loyal servants, Silvestre and the ever‑resourceful Scapin, become the only hope for untangling the tangled arrangements.

Scapin, a master of quick wit and outrageous tricks, boasts that no obstacle is too great for his clever schemes. As the fathers’ ships loom on the horizon, the servants scramble to devise daring deceptions that might rescue the lovers from an unwanted union. The result is a lively whirlwind of misunderstandings, slap‑stick antics, and razor‑sharp dialogue that captures the spirit of classic farce while keeping listeners on the edge of their seats.

About the author

Molière

Molière

1622–1673

A master of comedy and satire, this 17th-century playwright turned human weakness into some of the funniest and sharpest drama in French literature. His plays still feel lively today because they poke at vanity, hypocrisy, and self-deception with such clear-eyed wit.
