Description

In a modest German town, a struggling music teacher and his wife watch anxiously as their daughter Louisa becomes the focus of a far‑reaching scandal. Their son‑in‑law‑to‑be, a young army major named Ferdinand, is caught between duty and devotion, while the ambitions of local aristocrats and the prying eyes of a powerful prime minister threaten to unravel their quiet lives. The Miller household’s frantic attempts to protect their reputation set the stage for a clash of class, honor, and forbidden desire.

Against a backdrop of court intrigue and simmering resentment, the characters grapple with the expectations of their stations. Conversations flare with humor and desperation, hinting at the moral compromises each must consider. Listeners will be drawn into the tension of a society where love is measured against loyalty, and every whispered promise could become a ruinous betrayal.
