Description

An aging monarch, weary of the burdens of rule, summons his three daughters to a grand hall and proposes to split his realm among them. He asks each to proclaim her love, hoping a sweeping declaration will settle the future of the kingdom. While the eldest sisters shower him with flowery promises, the youngest remains silent, choosing honesty over flattery. The king’s hasty judgment sets the stage for strained loyalties, whispered conspiracies, and a fragile balance of power that begins to crumble almost immediately.

Beyond the regal ceremony, the court buzzes with rival nobles, scheming dukes, and a loyal nobleman who wrestles with his own family’s divided affections. As the king’s decision reverberates through the kingdom, the listeners are drawn into a world where pride, betrayal, and the longing for genuine affection clash, hinting at the turmoil that will soon engulf both ruler and realm.

William Shakespeare

A playwright, poet, and actor from Stratford-upon-Avon, he created characters and lines that have stayed alive for more than four centuries. His stories of love, ambition, jealousy, power, and forgiveness still feel startlingly human.
