Description

Jahvetti Kumpulainen is a modest country man whose life revolves around the rhythm of the fields and the quiet duties of a manor servant. He tends the barn, builds his own modest hut and finds comfort in the predictable patterns of work and the gentle companionship of Anna Loviisa, the housemaid. For Jahvetti, the world is simple: survive, serve, and keep his head down while the more powerful figures around him argue over estates and fortunes.

When whispers of a threatened “fatherland” reach the manor, Jahvetti’s ordinary world is abruptly unsettled. The estate’s young heir and his stern overseer clash over loyalty, violence and concession, drawing the simple laborer into a debate he never imagined. As factions form and old symbols are questioned, Jahvetti must confront ideas far beyond the fields he knows, testing his quiet resolve and forcing him to choose where his true allegiance lies.
