Description

Set against the glittering yet treacherous courts of 16th‑century Genoa, this drama opens with a restless chorus of conspirators gathering beneath opulent chandeliers. A seasoned noble, the charismatic Count Fiesco, rallies a motley crew of ambitious dukes, restless soldiers, and idealistic youths, each drawn by a promise of power and a thirst for change.

Among them stand the stern veteran Verrina, the ardent Leonora whose fragile beauty masks a fierce resolve, and the brash, power‑hungry Gianettino Doria, whose brutal ambition threatens to eclipse any hope of moderation. Their whispered plans clash with the rigid hierarchy of the city’s aristocracy, painting a vivid picture of loyalty, betrayal, and the fragile line between honor and ruin.

Listeners will find themselves immersed in a world of masked intrigue, rising tensions, and the haunting question of whether a single spark can ignite rebellion—or consign its participants to tragic oblivion.
