Description

In a modest rented flat, the meticulous Dr. Hanna Südekum spends her evenings grading schoolbooks, the dim light of a single lamp casting long shadows across her tidy desk. When the door opens, a nervous little girl named Gertrud slips inside, her eyes wide with an urgency that seems out of proportion to the ordinary evening. Hanna greets her with a calm but firm smile, offering the child a seat and a chance to speak, while the creeping darkness outside presses against the thin walls.

Through hesitant words, Gertrud reveals a secret habit of copying sentences from mysterious books into an old notebook, a habit that feels both comforting and dangerous. The teacher listens, trying to untangle the girl's fear of home duties and the strange pull of those hidden verses. As the night deepens, the two women find themselves bound by a fragile trust, hinting at a larger struggle that may push them beyond the safety of the dimly lit room.
