Description

When a fourteen‑year‑old orphan arrives at the Stanton household, he finds himself thrust into a world of privilege and self‑interest. The Stantons, preoccupied with their own children’s ambitions and social clubs, see the boy as a charitable burden rather than a family member. As they debate how much to support him, the young newcomer must decide whether to accept their cold generosity or forge his own path.

Undeterred, the boy draws on the grit and optimism that have carried him through hardship, seeking honest work and the respect of those around him. Along the way he encounters both kindness and prejudice, learning that true worth is measured not by wealth or birth but by character and perseverance. Listeners will be drawn into his earnest struggle to earn trust and carve a future beyond the confines of the Stantons’ expectations.
