Description

A breezy early‑morning scene opens on a modest kitchen table, where Roberta and her brother Harvey juggle pancakes, oatmeal, and talk of a perilous job at Lurtiss Field. Their family’s worries about the dangerous world of aviation and “air‑gangsters” set a tone of suspense, while a mysterious wealthy passenger, Mrs. Pollzoff, looms over the conversation. She’s a restless flyer, obsessed with the sea below and the schools of fish she watches from the sky, hinting at a hidden purpose that’s more than a simple hobby.

The day quickly shifts to the airfield, where Roberta readies herself for a flight that could unveil secrets lurking over the remote Seal Islands. With the charismatic Phil Fisher at the wheel and the promise of an early start, the story lifts off into a world of daring pilots, enigmatic patrons, and a mystery that beckons from the water’s depths. Listeners will be drawn into the charm of 1930s aviation and the intrigue that begins to surface as the plane climbs toward the unknown.
