Description

A fog‑laden January night in a gritty New York neighborhood sets the stage for an unexpected encounter. When Hillard, pipe‑smoking and half‑asleep, hears a soaring soprano drifting from the mist, the voice pulls him from his routine into a world of forgotten French operetta and restless yearning. He catches a glimpse of a lone woman slipping beneath his window, her song both intoxicating and fleeting, and his curiosity turns into a restless chase through the night‑shrouded streets.

The mystery deepens as Hillard grapples with the impossibility of the moment—was she a wandering diva, a phantom, or something else entirely? The narrative balances humor and longing, letting listeners feel the chill of the fog and the heat of Hillard’s sudden obsession. As the voice vanishes as quickly as it appeared, the story promises a journey where music, chance, and the search for identity intertwine, inviting you to follow Hillard’s pursuit of the elusive songstress.
