Description

A small band of rugged frontiersmen hunkers down in a hidden cliff hollow, seeking refuge from a sudden, unforgiving storm that turns the ancient forest into a sea of rain‑soaked leaves. Henry, Paul, Long Jim, and their stalwart companions Sol and Tom gather around a modest fire, their supplies carefully stowed in stone niches, while the howling wind reminds them how fragile their shelter truly is.

Beyond the warmth of the fire, the wilderness looms—silent deer, restless buffalo, and the ever‑present threat of a depleted ammunition cache. The men’s camaraderie is tested as they confront the reality that without powder and bullets, a return to settlement could mean a perilous trek and lost time. Yet each character’s unique grit—Sol’s relentless determination, Tom’s quiet resolve, and Long Jim’s steady humor—offers a glimpse of the resilience needed to survive in a world where nature still reigns supreme.
