Description

Three spirited siblings—Jerry, Jimmy and their sister Kathleen—spend their school days apart, only meeting on weekends at a stern governess’s house. When a bout of measles keeps their cousin Betty home, the trio’s plans for a long, carefree holiday are thrown into disarray, and they are sent to stay at Kathleen’s school instead. Determined to make the most of the unexpected change, they fill their rooms with fresh flowers and hatch schemes for secret games, hoping to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Their boredom soon gives way to wonder when they stumble upon a hidden doorway in the nearby woods that leads to an old, ivy‑clad castle shimmering with faint, magical light. Inside, rooms seem to shift, whispers hint at forgotten stories, and the children’s imagination awakens into real adventure. Together they explore glittering corridors, encounter curious creatures, and discover that the castle’s enchantments respond to their courage and friendship. The opening of this tale promises a charming blend of mischief, mystery, and the timeless joy of youthful discovery.
