Description

In the turbulent aftermath of revolutionary France, a daring Royalist officer slips into the modest inn “The Golden Crown” in the town of Bercy, hoping the old friendship of its keeper will shield him from prying eyes. While the town prepares for a crucial gathering of its governing States—an event that could seal a contested succession—Detricand balances secret missions for the Royalist cause with a growing unease about the fate of his beloved Guida. The atmosphere crackles with intrigue as spies, loyalties, and political ambitions intersect in the narrow streets and bustling tavern.

Against this backdrop, the impending marriage of the young duke to a powerful countess threatens to reshape alliances, and Detricand must decide whether to intervene openly or remain in the shadows. His resolve is tested by the promise he made to Guida, a pledge that drives him to protect her even as the kingdom teeters on the brink of upheaval. The stage is set for a tense clash of duty, love, and the fragile hope of restoring a lost order.
