Description

In the still, salt‑marsh wilderness of Great South Bay, a solitary hunter named Colonel Canbeck glides unnoticed in a reed‑lined sneak‑boat, waiting for the perfect shot. His one green‑yellow eye scans the gray water, his mind as weather‑worn as the marsh grasses that sway around him. As autumn deepens, the routine of decoys and quiet patience is shattered by the distant drone of a seaplane cutting through the overcast sky.

The aircraft’s sudden, low‑altitude swoop and the strange, clattering sounds that follow hint at a purpose far beyond ordinary traffic, stirring a quiet dread in the seasoned hunter. Canbeck’s solitary world of water, reeds, and hunting dogs begins to feel haunted by unseen forces, and the marsh seems to pulse with an unseen history. Listeners are drawn into a tense, atmospheric first act where nature, mystery, and a lone man's curiosity collide.
