Description

A curious young rabbit wanders far from the familiar briar‑patch, drawn to the shimmering Smiling Pool. There he meets Mrs. Quack, a small, brown duck who’s never visited the water before and is clearly uneasy about being spotted. Their tentative chat reveals her restless need for a hidden refuge and hints at a distant danger that has already sent a sudden bang echoing from the Big River.

Through gentle humor and vivid woodland details, the story sets up a friendship built on curiosity and cautious trust. As Mrs. Quack explains why she fled her usual haunts, listeners are invited to share in the rabbit’s eager desire to learn about others while sensing the looming threat that may soon pull them into a larger adventure. The tale balances light‑hearted wonder with the promise of challenges yet to come.
