Description

Old Mother West Wind drifts down from the Purple Hills each sunrise, her great bag spilling out a troupe of merry little breezes. These playful gusts dart through Green Meadows, teasing Johnny Chuck, warning him of the farmer’s gun, and greeting Grandfather Frog on his lily‑pad perch. Their gentle mischief sets the tone for a world where nature’s sounds become stories.

When the breezes learn that Mrs. Redwing’s speckled egg is in danger, they rally to protect it from the curious farm boy, Tommy Brown. With a swift tug of his straw hat and a cascade of whispering wind, the breezes turn a simple morning into a lively rescue adventure. Along the way, readers meet a host of forest friends—rabbits, foxes, skunks, and otters—each involved in curious, heart‑warming escapades.

The collection unfolds as a series of lighthearted fables, offering clever twists on everyday woodland life. Young listeners will enjoy the rhythmic narration and the gentle morals tucked into each tale, while the vivid characters keep the imagination swirling like a fresh spring breeze.
