Description

In bustling newspaper row, two sharp‑witted youngsters—known as Teddy and Carrots— carve out a niche as street‑wise merchants, trading everything from fresh paper bundles to clever favors. Their partnership thrives on quick talk, bright ideas, and a deep sense of loyalty, drawing in a colorful cast of newsboys, shopkeepers, and curious passersby. The city’s clangor and the fountain’s gleam become the backdrop for their budding enterprise, hinting at both opportunity and hidden danger.

When a perfectly groomed newcomer appears at the fountain, washing his face with the care of a gentleman, the local gang of newsboys erupts with jeers and suspicion. Their leader, Skip, forces the boy into a tense confrontation that quickly escalates, pulling Teddy and Carrots into a swirl of accusations, arrests, and whispered threats. As the first act unfolds, listeners will feel the pulse of a street‑level world where ambition meets rivalry, and where a single bold move can set the stage for far‑reaching consequences.
