Description

In the dust‑blown towns of the Kansas frontier, a ragged group of settlers gathers in a cramped hall, their voices rising over clinking mugs and the creak of wooden chairs. The meeting, led by the burly Jim Henderson and the sharp‑tongued Captain Neil, reveals a community bruised by a wave of counterfeit money that threatens to ruin their fragile livelihoods. Among them sits Redlaw, a half‑blood son of both the native plains and the incoming pioneers, whose keen eyes and uneasy loyalties make him the silent observer of every accusation and promise.

The men resolve to form a vigilance committee, borrowing the rough justice of frontier courts to hunt the unseen culprits. As Redlaw steps forward, his mixed heritage places him at the crossroads of trust and suspicion, forcing him to choose between the lawless mob and a quieter, perhaps safer, path. Listeners will be drawn into the smoky tavern debates, the simmering danger of hidden enemies, and the first stirrings of a chase that could reshape the settlement’s future.
