KOLMAS JEREMIAS HÄMMÄSTYY ITSEÄÄN.
Jeremiah spends his mornings perched on a weather‑worn fence, leafing through newspapers while the world around him drifts in a lazy summer haze. He shares the quiet road with Buffalo, a pipe‑smoking buffalo who debates the merits of women’s education, and Toto, an eager rabbit‑dog that darts ahead despite its owner’s sluggish steps. Their odd companionship carries them through sun‑kissed fields, past play‑full children and lowing calves, all while an absent‑minded postmaster holds the promise of a parcel that never arrives.
The narrative follows Jeremiah’s restless curiosity as he questions the routine of his days and watches strangers’ faces flicker in a mirror that seems more like a portal. A sudden, urgent telegram hints at something beyond the ordinary, and the looming idea of an “illusion” begins to tighten around his thoughts. In this quietly unsettling first act, everyday observations turn into a subtle meditation on expectation, longing, and the thin line between reality and hope.
