Description

A chain of wind‑blasted islands in the far north rises from a restless sea, its cliffs plunging into fog‑filled bays. Pine forests cling to the rock, waterfalls tumble from dizzy heights, and gulls cry over the cold waters. Here a fisherman and his fifteen‑year‑old son set out for a summer ride, only to be split by a sudden storm.

The wave capsizes their boat, and a solitary sailor named Manor rescues the boy, Har, from the cliffs of Wagö. Their bond deepens as they row together, swim among seals, and share dreams of a whaling voyage. Simple rituals—tossing a cloth from a cliff and the comforting nickname “Min Jong”—mark their friendship.

When a Danish three‑master anchors in the nearby bay, Manor is invited aboard for a two‑month whale hunt. Har longs to join, but his mother Lära, still mourning her lost husband, begs him to stay. The choice looms, testing loyalty and the fragile ties forged on the islands.
