Description

In the quiet Green Forest, a thoughtful rabbit named Peter returns from a visit with Paddy the beaver, his heart heavy over the looming threat to the migrating ducks. He confides his worries to a gentle deer, Lightfoot, whose soft eyes mirror the compassion of the woods. Their conversation turns to the cruelty of hunters who seem to relish sport, and Lightfoot, though timid, feels a growing urge to stand up for his fellow forest dwellers.

The story follows Lightfoot as he learns the weight of his new antlers and the responsibilities they symbolize. With the help of clever birds, industrious beavers, and his own wits, he embarks on a series of small but brave deeds—games of hide‑and‑seek, clever tricks, and unexpected alliances—that test his courage. Along the way, the forest’s breezes, streams, and quiet corners become both refuge and classroom, guiding Lightfoot toward a deeper understanding of bravery and friendship.
