Kira Kiralina : Adrien Zograffin ensimmäinen kertomus

A young man born in the rugged outskirts of Braila, son of a Greek smuggler and a Romanian farmwife, leaves home at twelve driven by a restless need to experience the world. He drifts across the Balkans and the Near East, taking on any work that comes his way—waiter, locksmith, mechanic, railway laborer, even a newspaper boy—while his keen eye records the lives he meets.

Through a desperate letter from a dying patient in a Nizza hospital, a friendship blossoms between the wanderer and a compassionate reader who helps shape his stories into polished prose. Their correspondence reveals a soul that devours Russian and Western literature, turning every hardship into material for vivid, often humorous tales.

These early chapters capture the raw energy of a self‑taught storyteller, his ceaseless wandering through Egypt, Syria, Beirut and beyond, and the relentless hunger for adventure that fuels his ever‑growing collection of unforgettable anecdotes.
