In a mist‑cloaked October morning, a disparate band of fourteen men finds itself holed up in the shadowed recess of the Dark Valley, far from any familiar road. Their leader, the enigmatic captain Floarea Codrilor—who has shed a familiar name for one that sings of forest blossoms—opens a strange ritual called “the Heitukas,” demanding each participant reveal his true self. As they trade stories around a modest fire, the rugged Vataffi Movila brews a fragrant Turkish coffee while the monk Spilca watches in solemn silence, and the forest‑born Jeremiah, son of the woods, listens with a blend of reverence and unease.

The atmosphere crackles with a mix of weariness and restless ambition, as the group grapples with the weight of a recently fallen commander and the promise of a new life among the crags and pine.
