A seasoned interstellar hunter is thrust onto the hostile world of Planet Maggie, a place where bizarre regulations govern every move. Assigned by the Galactic Government to eliminate a legendary, nearly indestructible creature known as the Hog, he must navigate alien customs, strict ordinances, and a bewildering environment that seems designed to thwart any assault. The planet’s strange laws—prohibiting alien hunters, banning communication with pilots, and restricting the use of conventional weapons—turn the hunt into a tangled puzzle as much as a physical challenge.
The story opens with a tense descent aboard a cramped astraplane, where the hunter’s own scarred body and grafted limb hint at past dangers. As the shuttle lands amid rusted structures and alien flora, the protagonist confronts a landscape teeming with odd wildlife and the ever‑present threat of the Hog’s deadly presence. With limited resources and an uncertain ally, he must decide how to survive long enough to face the beast that the Galactic Jury has deemed too dangerous to leave unchecked.

A mid-century science fiction writer and illustrator, he published a small body of imaginative short fiction and also contributed artwork to the genre magazines and fanzines of his era. His work sits in that rich pulp tradition where storytelling and visual world-building often went hand in hand.
