Set against the dimly lit courts of 15th‑century England, the play opens with a young King Henry VI struggling to keep his kingdom from unraveling. His idealistic nature and lack of political skill make him a pawn in the fierce rivalry between the houses of York and Lancaster. As noble families vie for influence, the audience meets ambitious figures such as the Duke of Somerset and the charismatic Earl of Warwick, each pushing their own agenda.
The first act centers on the tragic death of the loyal Duke of Humphrey, whose murder sparks a chain of accusations and revenge. Old loyalties are tested, and the fragile peace begins to crack under whispers of betrayal. Listeners are drawn into a world where personal honor clashes with the ruthless quest for power, setting the stage for the larger conflict that will engulf the realm.

A playwright, poet, and actor from Stratford-upon-Avon, he created characters and lines that have stayed alive for more than four centuries. His stories of love, ambition, jealousy, power, and forgiveness still feel startlingly human.
