A modest woodcutter’s family lives in hardship, but their youngest daughter shines with an extraordinary beauty that seems to promise a brighter fate. One storm‑laden night a massive white bear appears at the cottage window, offering the father wealth in exchange for his daughter’s hand. Though the father refuses, the girl, curious and courageous, prepares herself and follows the bear when he returns.
The bear leads her deep into a secluded, glittering castle where every wish is fulfilled with a single ring of a silver bell, yet an unseen presence slips into her bedroom each night after the lights are out. The girl enjoys the luxuries surrounding her, but the mystery of her nocturnal companion gnaws at her peace of mind. As she wrestles with longing for answers, the bear urges her to trust without question, setting the stage for a delicate test of faith and curiosity.
