Description

In a deep, ancient forest where only the sounds of woodpeckers, owls and distant wolves break the silence, a solitary woodcutter named Peter lives in a modest cabin he built beside the trees he fells. When winter's chill deepens his loneliness, he journeys to a bustling market town hoping to find a bride, only to be rebuffed by women who desire comforts far beyond his humble life. Each rejection deepens his sense of isolation, yet his yearning for companionship remains undimmed.

On his return, Peter encounters a rag‑clad old woman and a tear‑soaked girl trudging along the road. Moved by their plight, he offers help, and the crone, with a sudden, unsettling smile, suggests the girl, Susan, might be his destined partner. As they walk back to his cabin, the old woman vanishes, and Peter senses an otherworldly presence guiding their union. Unbeknownst to him, Susan is no ordinary maiden—she is the youngest and most powerful fairy, whose hidden magic will soon test the simple life Peter has built.
