Born in Boston in 1827, Caroline Snowden Guild was an American author whose books and poems appeared in the second half of the 19th century. She is also listed as Caroline Snowden Whitmarsh Guild, and some records connect her with hymn writing as well as fiction.

Her known works include Violet: A Fairy Story and The Dew-Drop; or, The Hillside Cottagers. The surviving record suggests a writer interested in family reading and imaginative, instructive storytelling, especially for younger audiences.
