Across a narrow channel, the isolated Owl’s Nest—an island once granted asylum by Alexander— stands in quiet decay, its once‑grand houses now crumbling beneath wind‑blown dust.

In the shadow of a ruined villa, an elderly woman named Tabus sits at a simple fire, plucking ducks as she watches the river’s edge. A young, motherless girl approaches, leaning against a sycamore, seeking the old prophetess’s counsel and perhaps a modest favor. Their meeting hints at lingering tensions: the island’s notorious past of piracy, a looming investigation, and the fragile peace that binds the residents of Tennis to the enigmatic island beyond their waters.
