Born in Leeuwarden on August 1, 1877, Leonard Felix Hageman was a Dutch journalist and writer. He died in Amsterdam on January 22, 1966.
Hageman is best remembered for his work in popular fiction, especially the Dutch Lord Lister stories. Project Gutenberg lists many titles connected with his name, showing how widely his work circulated and how strongly he was linked with serialized adventure and crime fiction.
Although not as internationally famous as some of his contemporaries, Hageman helped shape a lively corner of early 20th-century Dutch reading culture, writing the kind of dramatic, accessible stories that kept readers coming back for the next installment.
