Description

The opening night at the grand Hypodrome‑Theatre draws a glittering crowd of aristocrats, foreign visitors and the city’s most curious onlookers. In a plush first‑class box sit the celebrated philanthropist Lord William Aberdeen and his cheerful secretary, Charly Brand, who manage a fortune of charitable gifts while keeping an eye on the less fortunate neighborhoods of London. Their presence masks a far more dangerous companion: the infamous gentleman‑thief John Raffles, a name that haunts Scotland Yard and whose bounty still hangs over his head.

Raffles, reluctantly drawn to the variety performance, watches the dazzling acts with a mixture of boredom and thinly veiled curiosity. When the curtain rises on a promised dancer famed for her jeweled costumes and legion of admirers, his interest is piqued enough to stay for the intermission. As the evening unfolds, the clash between high society charity and the lurking underworld hints at a night that may turn from spectacle to sudden intrigue.
