Description

In the quiet hills between two modest farmhouses, brothers Eerikki and Janne pause to listen to the distant roar of artillery. The thunderous blasts shake the earth, yet the brothers feel oddly secure, their homes spared while nearby villages are being torn apart. Their conversation drifts from the stubbornness of inheritance—who should claim the old family farm—to the uneasy calm that settles over a landscape on the brink of conflict.

Through the brothers’ eyes, the story captures the tension between the familiar rhythms of rural life and the encroaching chaos of war. Small townsfolk, whispered rumors, and the looming presence of guns paint a portrait of a community grappling with fear, loyalty, and the yearning for a future free from violence. The narrative weaves together personal grievances, the weight of tradition, and a collective hope that tomorrow might bring a different kind of freedom.
