Description

In the bustling home of the Ten family, the children gather for an impromptu council in their schoolroom, a noisy but heartfelt attempt to decide whether their lanky, artistic brother Felix might also earn a place at college. Their elder siblings argue, tease, and cajole, especially when little Kathie erupts in tears, prompting a brief, comic showdown involving a tossed pillow and a promise of chocolate. Amid the clamor, the children’s vivid personalities—mischievous twins, a baby brother, and a stern governess who decries their uproar—paint a lively portrait of familial love and rivalry.

Felix, despite his limp, is the quiet genius of the group, sketching poetry and pictures that astonish his peers. He seizes the moment to turn Kathie’s sobbing into art, dubbing her the “Schoolroom Vixen” and intending to send the portrait to the Academy. The scene captures the blend of innocence, creativity, and the gentle chaos that defines their world, inviting listeners to step into a story where every small dispute hints at larger dreams yet to unfold.
