Description

Bertie Wooster wakes up with an uncharacteristic dread on the morning he is to travel to his formidable Aunt Agatha’s country house. A cryptic, unsigned telegram urges him to “meet perfect strangers,” and the young gentleman can’t help but wonder what hidden agenda lies behind his aunt’s invitation. The prospect of encountering the serious‑minded cabinet minister Mr. Filmer only deepens his anxiety, while his faithful valet Jeeves remains unflappable, offering a steady hand and a few sardonic observations.

As the train rolls toward Woollam Chersey, Bertie tries to reconcile his carefree nature with the expectations of high society, all the while speculating about the mysterious message. Jeeves, ever the epitome of composure, prepares his master for the inevitable social snafu with discreet plans and quiet confidence. Listeners can expect a delightful mix of witty repartee, gentle absurdity, and the timeless charm of a friendship that turns even the most puzzling predicaments into light‑hearted adventure.

P. G. (Pelham Grenville) Wodehouse

1881–1975

Best known for creating Jeeves and Bertie Wooster, this master of comic prose built a wonderfully off-kilter world of absent-minded aristocrats, sharp-witted valets, and blissfully avoidable disasters. His books are still loved for their light touch, intricate plots, and sheer verbal sparkle.
