Description

A weary, almost spectral old man drifts through the fog‑washed streets of New York, his bewildered mutterings catching the eye of a hard‑hearted police officer. The officer’s curiosity pulls him toward a deserted house on Beach Street, where the stranger collapses against a rusted railing, his mind seemingly overwhelmed by the bleak winter scenery. In the shadows of St. John’s Church, the pair unwittingly stumble onto a tangled mystery that hints at hidden debts, forgotten identities, and a danger that lingers beyond the ordinary.

Enter Nick Carter, the city’s sharp‑witted detective, summoned by the precinct to untangle the old man’s cryptic ramblings. As Carter surveys the grimy alleyways and the vacant façade, he senses that the man’s disorientation is no accident but a clue to a larger ploy. With his trademark blend of intuition and street‑level savvy, Carter begins to piece together a trail that could expose a sinister plot lurking just beneath the city’s bustling surface.
