Description

After escaping the horror of the Wyoming massacre, Jo Minturn, his sister Rosa, and their companion Ned Clinton find themselves deep in untamed forest, hoping the guidance of the enigmatic Mohawk scout Lena‑Wingo will lead them to safety. The quiet of the evening is broken by Lena‑Wingo’s sudden return, his silent presence and the weight of a hidden hunt hinting at dangers that linger even beyond the battlefield. Tension mounts as the trio wrestles with mistrust and the uncertainty of a stranger’s motives, while the forest itself seems to press in, alive with unseen eyes.

Beneath the looming trees, Ned wrestles with a growing affection for Rosa, a feeling sharpened by the constant threat of capture or death. As the group presses onward, they must balance the need for food, the fear of hostile forces, and the fragile hope that loyalty and courage will see them through the wilderness. The story weaves together frontier adventure, cultural clash, and a tender, uncertain romance, inviting listeners to experience the raw, unforgiving world of 18th‑century America.
