Description

Aboard a bustling steamer bound for San Francisco, two teenage cousins—bright, adventurous boys from Brooklyn—set sail with their families, hopeful for a fresh start in the booming West. Their journey takes a sudden, harrowing turn when a storm tears the vessel apart, leaving the youngsters stranded on an unfamiliar California coast. With only a handful of supplies and a mysterious crew member named Tim, they must grapple with the raw wilderness and the looming threat of hostile natives.

In the first tense days of their ordeal, the boys learn to rely on each other’s strengths: Elwood’s daring instincts and Howard’s careful thoughtfulness. Together they fashion makeshift shelters, hunt for food, and navigate a landscape that is both beautiful and unforgiving. Their bond deepens as they confront danger, discover hidden valleys, and begin to piece together a plan for rescue, all while the Pacific tides whisper promises of eventual salvation.
