Description

In the wind‑blown peninsular town of Quilaix, the Atlantic pounds against a stone pier while the locals go about their simple, salt‑scented lives. Paul Marais, the genial harbor‑master, watches the sea from his crooked timber‑and‑stone house, hoping the occasional coach will bring a guest who might brighten his routine. The town’s quiet charm is framed by an ivy‑clad chapel and the steady rhythm of fishing folk, a backdrop that feels both timeless and a little uneasy when the tide grows restless.

One misty afternoon a young Englishwoman arrives with a toddler, her eyes searching the room as if seeking something long hidden. She speaks of a relic—a Viking skull—once taken from a sacred ring and now whispered about in old Breton legends. Pol, ever the courteous host, finds himself drawn into a puzzle that blends local folklore with a stranger’s urgent curiosity, setting the stage for an adventure that could awaken secrets buried beneath the waves.
