Description

In Pleasant Valley, old Mr. Crow is as infamous as he is indispensable. Neighbors gossip that he pilfers corn, chickens, and even baby robins, yet they also rely on his ravenous appetite for beetles and cutworms to protect Farmer Green’s crops. His boisterous voice and slap‑dash gestures keep the woods perpetually lively, making him the most talked‑about, if not most misunderstood, resident.

Beyond the rumors, the crow’s own view of himself is mischievously simple: a traveler who prefers summer meals to winter frost, and a joke‑teller who loves to answer “as the crow flies.” When a newcomer named Jasper Jay bursts into his routine, recognizing a familial bond that few have noticed, Mr. Crow is forced to confront a surprising connection. Their encounter hints at a series of eccentric escapades that could reshape the balance of the valley’s gossip and goodwill.
