PART I. - THE NARRATIVE OF LIEUTENANT VON BELKE (OF THE GERMAN NAVY)
I. THE LANDING.
A moon‑lit night on an isolated Atlantic coast sets the scene for a daring wartime covert. Lieutenant von Belke, a German naval officer, slips ashore with a handful of men and a motor‑bike, their silent submarine lurking beneath the calm waves. The coastline, framed by towering cliffs and eerie, empty beaches, feels both beautiful and foreboding, heightening the sense that unseen eyes may be watching every cautious step.
In the first act, von Belke’s nervous confidence cracks as he confronts the practical challenges of a secret landing—slipping equipment, hidden currents, and the faint sound of distant birds. The narrative captures the tension of an operative’s first foray into enemy territory, hinting at mistrust, hidden motives, and the thin line between preparation and improvisation. Listeners are drawn into a world where a single misstep could expose a whole mission, setting the tone for a suspenseful espionage tale.
