On a bright, sun‑scorched shore, a very different kind of witch makes her home beneath the grains of sand. Unlike the classic broom‑riding, chimney‑sliding sorceresses of old tales, the Sand Witch emerges quietly from the beach itself, popping up with a jaunty hat and a smile as cool as a cucumber. She’s more interested in making new acquaintances than casting spells, and her world is defined by the endless tide and the soft dunes that surround her.
When seven‑year‑old Junior, sun‑burned and preferring the dry sand to the salty surf, begins to dig for the sheer pleasure of it, he unintentionally summons this unusually sociable resident. Their conversation is a whimsical back‑and‑forth about fun, digging, and the oddity of a witch living under the sand. As Junior’s curiosity grows, the witch offers a playful invitation to explore her hidden realm, promising a day of unexpected wonder right at the water’s edge.
